Upgrading SDI
1. Stop execution and back up
Stop Workers and CLI executions on every computer and verify in Execution Log that active tasks have finished. Stopping an agent does not cancel tasks already executing. Close Studio as well.
Back up the configuration folder, each computer's local SdiWorkerBasic.config, and any required logs. Retain the customer-managed key separately. A system-managed key's local settings are computer-specific and cannot be restored to another computer merely by copying them.
2. Uninstall the previous version and install the new version
- Select SimpleDataIntegrator in Windows Programs and Features and uninstall it.
- Run the supplied new-version
SimpleDataIntegratorSetup.msi. - Follow the installer. Keep Worker and CLI stopped until settings have been verified.
3. Verify settings in Studio
- Open Studio and select the existing configuration folder.
- Verify existing connections and credentials.
- Register the same customer-managed key on every computer sharing the configuration.
- If the key or identity cannot be read, follow recovery instructions. Preserve existing files rather than deleting and recreating them.
4. Review API incremental positions
Review the incremental position when API retrieval conditions change. Follow incremental API retrieval to reapply the saved UTC position, specify another UTC boundary, or clear it. Clearing restarts from the default date.
5. Verify operation and resume
Test existing connections and representative mappings in Studio. Start the SimpleDataIntegratorWorker Windows service and verify tasks under its normal service account. If CLI is used, verify execution from CLI too. Resume cluster operation only after key registration and connection checks on every node.
